HCANH Members Make List of OCS’s “Home Care Elite”
OCS, a leading home care benchmarking company, annually produces a list of Medicare-certified home health agencies whose performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance are among the top 25% of providers nationwide. Called “Home Care Elite”, the 2007 list includes a number of HCANH members:
The Homemakers Health Services, Rochester
NE Rehab Hospital Home Care Services, Salem
Portsmouth/Derry/Salem Home Health & Hospice, Portsmouth
Seacoast VNA, North Hampton
Wentworth Home Care & Hospice, Dover
Home Health VNA, Lawrence, MA
OCS used publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the CMS cost reports, and based the rankings on measures of quality of care, quality improvement and financial performance. Quality of care measures were from the last half of 2006 and the first half of 2007; quality improvement data is based on outcome data released in September 2006 and September 2007; and financial performance measures are based on indexed profit margins from 2006 CMS cost reports (or 2005 adjusted when 2006 data was not available).
